Interestingly enough, emotions are not in the DSM as diagnostic criteria for ADHD.

Yet, those of us with ADHD are often finding that we are overcome by our emotions.

Have you ever been told “you are too sensitive?” I know that I have! I used to feel bad about it and internalize all of my emotions until… I was diagnosed with ADHD and I had an explanation! Plus.. what does “too sensitive” even mean?!

That said, it is not fun when we want to go for a job interview and we are so stressed and nervous that we can cry at the drop of a hat. Or those times that we are stuck in traffic, honking at everyone and anyone because well, we are late or don’t have the patience to sit in traffic…again!

Our emotions often dictate our actions, but let me tell you… they don’t have to!
